Obedience 10 Day Training

10 Day Obedience & Behavior Training Program

Building a Strong Foundation Through Structured, Hands-On Training

Laying the basic obedience foundation, our 10 Day Training Program combines focused one-on-one instruction with practical real-world application. Each one-hour lesson is scheduled once per week, where key commands are introduced through individualized instruction. Between sessions, pet parents complete structured homework, reinforcing skills at home until the next lesson.

Two Levels of 10-Day Private Training

Structured Progression for Long-Term Success

Our 10-Day Private Training Program is offered in two distinct levels: Basic Obedience and Intermediate Obedience. Each course consists of 10 one-hour private sessions scheduled once per week and is designed to build skills progressively, not rush advanced work before the foundation is solid.

Dogs must move through training step by step. We do not skip foundational skills in order to push into advanced behaviors prematurely.

Basic Obedience – 10 Day Program

Building the Foundation First

The Basic course focuses on introducing core obedience commands and teaching proper leash handling skills. This level establishes communication between dog and handler and ensures both are confident before advancing.

Training includes:

Introduction to foundational commands
Structured leash work, taught progressively
Controlled exposure to trained alumni dogs as low-level distractions
Minimal environmental distractions to promote clarity and focus
Early socialization through structured pack walks

Leash work is taught methodically, one step at a time. We do not rush into complex exercises before the fundamentals are reliable.

Intermediate Obedience – 10 Day Program

Strengthening Reliability Around Distractions

The Intermediate course builds upon the Basic foundation. Dogs at this level begin working with more structured distractions and greater expectations for consistency.

Training includes:

Reinforcement and proofing of previously learned commands
Increased distraction exposure using trained alumni dogs
Continued leash reliability in more dynamic environments
Ongoing pack walks to strengthen social stability and focus

While distractions increase at this level, control and structure remain the priority.

Understanding Off-Leash Expectations

Why Advanced Off-Leash Training Is Not Included

Advanced off-leash obedience is not part of the 10-Day Private Training Program. Off-leash reliability requires a higher level of consistency, repetition, and immersion than a once-per-week format can provide.

For owners seeking advanced off-leash control, our 14-Day or 21-Day Stay & Train programs are the appropriate path. These immersive programs allow for the repetition, structure, and accountability necessary to build dependable off-leash performance.

Progression matters. We focus on doing things correctly rather than quickly.

Personalized Instruction & Progressive Challenges

Tailored Training Designed Around Your Dog

During private lessons, you’ll work individually with a trainer to build strong foundations while tailoring techniques to your dog’s temperament and learning style. As your dog progresses and you’re ready for the next level, structured opportunities are introduced to socialize and proof behaviors around other dogs and controlled distractions.
We utilize boarding alumni as predictable, graduated challenges, trained dogs that provide controlled exposure so your dog learns to perform commands reliably even with exciting stimuli present. This compact, focused course accelerates progress while teaching you how to maintain and generalize skills for everyday success.

Program Logistics

What to Expect

Duration

The program includes 10 structured one-hour lessons, scheduled once per week to allow steady progress and time for reinforcement between sessions. This pacing ensures that both you and your dog have the opportunity to practice, build consistency, and return each week ready to advance to the next step.

Format

All sessions are conducted in person and focus on guided, hands-on instruction. During each lesson, you’ll practice techniques alongside your trainer, receive real-time feedback, and leave with clear home assignments designed to reinforce what was introduced. This balance of instruction and at-home practice is what drives lasting results.

Final Evaluation

At the conclusion of the program, we conduct a comprehensive review of your dog’s progress. This includes a skills check, time for questions and troubleshooting, and personalized recommendations for maintaining or advancing training moving forward. The goal is to ensure you leave confident, prepared, and equipped for continued success.

This program is a great fit for dogs that have outgrown puppy training, struggle with reliability, or need help addressing behavior concerns.
